How did you find out about Chucky P?

I'm new here and I thought I good introduction would be if everyone shared how they came to know about Chuck..

I used to work at a book store when Fight Club first hit the shelves. And since I was the kid stocking the shelves I got my grubby little hands on the book and couldnt put it down. (I have yet to see the movie) But I have been a faithful reader of his work.

The Next Chuck P Movie!?

Ok i'm sorry if it's been posted before or asked or whatnot.
But are there any rumors for what might be the next Chuck P book to make it to the silvascreen?

If there aren't any, what book would you most like to see become a movie? Or am I jackass for wanting to see one of his books as a movie? (hmmm maybe don't answer that)
well me personally since I love CHOKE so much, I'd have to say that....
Who would be Victor Mancini?
The sad thing is I kept seeing Edward Norton in my head when I read the book. I guess thats the bad thing about seeing a movie before you start reading the author's books. Oh well.

Survivor film.

I got this of Chuck's website:

Chuck Palahniuk’s second novel Survivor has long since been sitting in the halls of movie production limbo. Soon after Fight Club became a runaway cult hit, talk began of turning Survivor into a movie with such talent mentioned as Jerry Bruckheimer producing; starring names such as Jim Carrey, Kevin Spacey, and Madonna; even Trent Reznor of NIN tossed his hat into the circle and offered to score the entire film. The first tangible lead to take though was a screenplay by Jake Paltrow (Gwyneth’s little brother). With a draft that convinced the heads at 20th Century Fox, Paltrow set into motion to move the project forward. Things looked good and ready to take off. And then two airplanes crashed into the World Trade Center.
In the wake of 9/11, something happened behind the scenes of the book industry and Hollywood, and suddenly anything with transgressive themes found a dusty shelf. Survivor, a book with the running storyline of a person hijacking and crashing a 747 into the Australian outback just didn’t sit right in this new, post-terrorist climate our society was living in. For years, Chuck would find himself answering a common question at almost every public reading he did: “What’s the status of the Survivor movie?”
Well, Chuck is finally able to answer that question. At his recent appearance at the Chicago Book Fair, Chuck said that the Survivor movie now will be made into a film! It sounds like the Jake Paltrow screenplay is out, since he said the team behind the upcoming film Constantine, starring Keanu Reeves, want Survivor to be their next project. Chuck has already signed the contract sent his way and the screenplay is being adapted as you read this. Who knows though how long it will be until actual filming begins. And don’t forget, these things have a way of dying before they even get to the next phase. So don’t hold your breath until the film officially gets a greenlight.
In the meantime, take a trip down memory lane with the below links.

This is my first post here and it's not my intention to piss you off, but recently I viewed a movie called Bad Influence. It had actors james spader and Rob lowe - AND - it reminded me a hell of a lot of Fight Club. Does anybody know if CP was 'influenced' by this movie when he wrote fight club?

I think Dennis(the webmaster of Chuckpalahniuk.net)did a stupendous job. I totally urge all of you to order it.

Chuck P has been talking up big time this book by Craig Clevenger, THE CONTORTIONIST'S HANDBOOK. I started it this morning, and must say that I'm hooked. It was hard to put down once I started. He does a great job of getting you into the head of and identifying with a first-person protagonist that is a real scumbag. I can be a slow reader sometimes, dragging a book out for weeks or months. I'll be surprised if I don't finish this one today.

I like Brandy Alexander and Manis for starters because they make everything in Invisible Monsters so funny and intriguing.
And I like Victor because...I just do I guess.I relate with him alot oddly enough.Plus I like how he's not as genius as all of Chucks other characters hes not that smart, like how Denny and him are always saying stuff like 'dude'

I have seen chuck p at a few readings and he is always strong looking. But he was not even close to this big: http://www.livejournal.com/users/zoe_trope/273827.html a few months ago. Side note the link is to another portland author, zoe tropes, livejournal.

Next book to read

OK, I'm going to read a Chuck book soon. I've only read Fight Club and Fugitives and Refugees. I'm probably going to get one from Fictionwise.com in ebook form. There are three books in there that I can get for $8.46 apiece (a little steep for an ebook, but cheaper than the paperback, which is usually what the big publishers charge.) Any suggestions on which I should read next? The choices are:

Lullaby
Diary
Choke

I eventually will read all three. Should I just flip a coin and go or is there one I should read before the others? Does it matter?
No Spoiling it for Others?

Here are a couple of suggestions:

Keeping in mind that every Palahniuk story has at least one earth shattering revelation in the plot, it would be nice if we could refrain from commenting on those special turns in the story.

Imagine what a spoil it would be to read about the end of Fight Club, or Invisible Monsters in a thread as opposed to through the books.

Also, wouldn't it be appropriate to start a thread for each book? That way we can start chatting away on books that we have read, and actively chose not participate on threads of books that we haven't read yet.

My 2 cents. No, wait. Those were 2 suggestions?
So... my 4 centavos. Plus interest.

You might still can find it at your worse newstands with older magazines. The article is OK, although I'm sorry it had such a chaotic affect on CP's life.
