Ok i'm sorry if it's been posted before or asked or whatnot.
But are there any rumors for what might be the next Chuck P book to make it to the silvascreen?
If there aren't any, what book would you most like to see become a movie? Or am I jackass for wanting to see one of his books as a movie? (hmmm maybe don't answer that)
well me personally since I love CHOKE so much, I'd have to say that....
Who would be Victor Mancini?
The sad thing is I kept seeing Edward Norton in my head when I read the book. I guess thats the bad thing about seeing a movie before you start reading the author's books. Oh well.

Re: The Next Chuck P Movie!?
Wed, May 19, 2004 - 11:08 PMas did i.
it was actually the last book I had picked for a movie, despite its popularity behind fight club.
all i know is that before director and actors and all that jazz are decided upon,
i want to know for sure if trent reznor will do the soundtrack, like he was supposed to do with Fight Club. -

Re: The Next Chuck P Movie!?
Thu, May 20, 2004 - 6:08 AMsonofa! trent was supposed to do the fight club soundtrack?
i never knew that, and im a huge rez fan..
i thought the fight club soundtrack by the dust bros was pretty good.. atmospheric if anything... nothing i'd really listen to over and over...
but damn yea trent doing a chuck p anything would be great..
choke would be great, but for some reason i see him doing even better with a survivor movie.
i've seen some of the names people are throwing around for who they think should be victor, denny and paige.. and all i can say is im glad its not up to them. somebody said jack black as denny. (oh and this was us.imdb.com under chuck p's info)
man if trent would've done fight club, that movie would've been even darker... what happened with that? damn! -

can you do half coke, half diet coke? i'm trying to watch my figure
Thu, May 20, 2004 - 5:20 PMrez and chuck are good friends (somehow) and chuck had asked trent to do the soundtrack.
But it was around the time of Halo 14 I think, and there was a whole lot of stuff trent was doing to try to re-vitalize NIN at that point, so he turned down the offer.
It was then given to the dust brothers.
If you get a copy of the chuck palahniuk documentary, postcards, there's a song off of the downward spiral (i think its march of the pigs, but I can't remember) on one of the scene transitions.
If you ask me, being a huge jack black fan, I think he MIGHT work out as Denny.
Maybe.
It's difficult for me to say.
I think you have to forget everything about fight club when considering Choke as a movie.
which is currently my predicament. -

Re: can you do half coke, half diet coke? i'm trying to watch my figure
Wed, May 26, 2004 - 9:50 AMUnfortunately, picking the music that shows up in a flick isn't up to the writer of the original material. That would be the director, in Fight Club's case, Fincher. Of course, every director is different, and I wouldn't doubt that Fincher consulted with Chuck on a number of issues. But that is rare in Hollywood.
Fincher did a great job, considering all the top 40 crap that ends up on soundtracks these days.
My vote for the next CP story I'd love to see up on the big screen: LULLABY. -

Re: can you do half coke, half diet coke? i'm trying to watch my figure
Fri, May 28, 2004 - 10:33 PMlullaby or diary would make excellent thriller type movies, and I think would do well in the box office, sure.
but I think with the last two novels, chuck has had to change his approach to writting in order to be published in the first place.
fucked up modern social commentary isn't well recieved in the wake of 911.
no one wants to read or see shit that pretty much blames us.
that having been said, I still would like to see invisible monsters, myself.
i think that would turn out to be a very interesting film, for sure.

Re: The Next Chuck P Movie!?
Tue, June 22, 2004 - 7:56 PMI heard (AGES ago so this is probably wrong now) that Fincher was trying to get 'Survivor' onto the big screen, had a script and everything, but the studio canned it. The buggers. Personally speaking, I'd love 'Invisible Monsters' to be done, but that would be...very warped. And difficult. And it might not work out. -

Wed, June 23, 2004 - 10:34 PMImvisible Monsters is actually in the works, it will star Jessica Biel....

Also heard that Survivor will be coming to film soon too. Any thoughts on how that should be cast? I was thinking maybe Billy Bob Thronton as Tender Branson. -

Thu, October 14, 2004 - 6:02 AMInvisible Monsters is my favorite book, but I just can't see it translating properly into a movie. I'd rather see Survivor get the film treatment.

Wed, January 17, 2007 - 9:17 PMSurvivor is my favorite, and I would love to see it hit the silver screen! Although, the name may need to be changed so its not confused as having any relation to a crappy reality tv show. -

Re: The Next Chuck P Movie!?
Sat, January 20, 2007 - 12:22 PMWho woulda thought there would be two "Stranger than Fiction"'s?
A couple weeks ago, I had just enough time to see whatever matinee was starting soon. When I saw a movie titled "Stranger than Fiction" I was very interested to see how anyone could successfully present the book as a movie. I also wondered how I could have missed any announcement that it was coming to the cinema.
It wasn't too long before I realized I was watching a different story, same title. The movie was good and I recommend it but it's not Chuck Palahniuk's story (stories) of the same name.
